Darshini immediately impressed me with her deep understanding of District 8 and the gap between what politicians promise and what gets delivered. Whether it’s childcare, transit, housing, or permits for small businesses, Darshini discovered root causes for many of the economic challenges in the neighborhood came from long wait times associated with government administrative services.
These wait times, in many cases, are outrageous and infuriating and it’s clear that Darshini not only understands what causes them, but how to fix them. I firmly believe that resolution speed is something that elected officials need to pay better attention to, and Darshini’s focus on delivery speed really sets her apart from other candidates.

Darshini was one of the most instrumental individuals to hold together our statewide Get-Out-The-Vote program during the 2024 election. She is deeply logistically minded and is a great choice to lead during this tumultuous period. I am better for having worked with her, and I know she will make SF better.
San Francisco has spent too long trapped in tired arguments while the same failures keep repeating in public. Housing gets debated, approved, delayed, and diluted. Transit absorbs endless discussion without becoming reliably better. Residents and small businesses get worn down by systems that are slow, fragmented, and too often unaccountable. The city does not suffer from a lack of stated values. It suffers from a failure to convert intent into execution.
What I find compelling about Darshini is that she seems focused on that exact layer of civic life where trust is either built or destroyed. Coordination. Follow-through. Accountability. The hard work that begins after the speech, after the endorsement, after the vote, when somebody has to stay with the problem long enough to make government actually function.
That matters to me. Competence in public office shapes the texture of daily life. It determines whether a city becomes more livable, more predictable, and more possible for the people trying to build a life in it.
That is why I am supporting Darshini Patel for District 8.
LET’S GET IT DONE.
I worked with Darshini at DoorDash, and what I saw there is exactly what District 8 needs right now.
Darshini didn’t just ship projects — she drove outcomes. I watched her take on some of the hardest, most ambiguous challenges at the company and turn them into work that moved the business forward in ways people could actually measure. She built the function that advocated for restaurant operators from the ground up, and she did it by listening first and building second. When COVID hit, her team didn’t wait for a playbook — they stood up emergency support in weeks.
But what I want people to know about Darshini goes beyond her professional track record. The way she moves through the world is rare. She is constantly thinking about the people around her — what they need, what’s getting in their way, how to clear the path. I’ve never seen her put herself first. She leads with respect for everyone in the room, whether it’s a CEO or someone brand new on the team. That’s not something you can fake, and it’s not something you can teach. It’s just who she is.
District 8 deserves a supervisor who knows how to deliver and who genuinely cares about every person she serves. Darshini is that person.
Darshini’s platform is exactly what I’d expect from 10 years of knowing her — professionally and personally. Professionally, it shows her ability to find opportunity in chaos, simplicity in complexity, and solutions where others see only problems. Personally, it shows the deep empathy she has for the people around her, her keen ability to understand what they actually need, and her unwavering desire to help. District 8 will be better with Darshini in office.
